A new airline seat aimed at making flying more comfortable for tall people has been developed by a London-based design studio.
A London-based design company has revealed plans for an economy airline seat to make flying more comfortable for tall people.
PearsonLloyd revealed the concept design at the Aircraft Interiors EXPO 2018 in Hamburg last month.
The seat has a removable headrest with a central spine and neck running through the back of the chair.
The company says this maximises the personal space for the passenger without requiring airlines to give up any rows of seats.
Luke Pearson from PearsonLloyd told Lonely Planet: “The new ‘central spine’ of the seat would hold tray tables and other things that passengers need, while making it easier to get in and out for takeoff, landing, toilet breaks, or just to stretch your legs.
“The seats have also been designed to allow passengers recline further without annoying the person sitting behind them quite as much.”
The seat’s internal structures are made from a fibre glass, covered with recycled plastic containing sunflower seeds and wool.
