EasyJet has been accused of endangering passengers after pictures emerged of a woman sitting in a backless seat.
An easyJet passenger has been pictured sitting in a backless seat, sparking outrage from social media users.
Matthew Harris took the photograph on flight U22051 from London Luton to Geneva.
Posting the photo on Twitter, Harris captioned his tweet: “#easyjet beats @Ryanair to have backless seats. @IATA @EASA this is flight 2021 Luton to Geneva. How can this be allowed. @GeneveAeroport @easyJet_press @easyJet”

The airline responded to his tweet, requesting he remove the image immediately.
However, Harris replied: “Absolutely not. This is a real photo of a plane currently descending to Geneva.”

According to reports, there were five seats available which the woman was able to move to before the flight took off.
It is unsure what would have happened had the flight been fully booked.
“Safety is our highest priority and easyJet operates its fleet of aircraft in strict compliance with all safety guidelines,” easyJet said in a statement.
