A Pakistani politician has been ridiculed online after praising the ‘pilot’ of a video game.

A Pakistan politician has been mocked online for confusing Grand Theft Auto footage with real life.

Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, secretary general for Pakistan Awami Tehreek, uploaded a video online of an aircraft narrowly missing an oil tanker parked on a runway.

Gandapur, however, mistook the short computer game clip for real life.

Gandapur captioned his tweet: “Narrow escape of an aircraft which could have ended in a great disaster. Miraculous save by the pilot’s presence of mind.”

The ex-cricketer was alerted to his mistake after his tweet gained thousands of comments mocking the error.

Gandapur is not the only Pakistani politician to make a tech gaffe this year.

Earlier this year, Shaukat Yousafzai’s team live-streamed an entire press conference with a ‘cat filter’ enabled.
