Ryanair applies to sack all its Netherlands-based workforce for refusing to relocate to Morocco & Belarus | Secret Flying

Ryanair has filed for the mass dismissal of its Netherlands-based pilots and cabin crew after they refused to relocate.

Ryanair has applied to collectively make all of its Netherlands-based workforce redundant after they refused to relocate to bases such as Morocco and Belarus.

The Irish low-cost airline cited bad economic results for its Eindhoven base prompting its closure in November.

Pilots and cabin crew were offered alternative bases from which to work.

However, these have been refused as it will involve moving to far-flung cities in North Africa and Eastern Europe.

Unions VNV and FNV, which represent the pilots and flight attendants respectively, said they will appeal the mass-firing with the government body.

A VNV union spokesman said: “Ryanair has to stop with the divide-and-conquer culture, and has to respect employee’s fundamental rights”.
