Spirit Airlines bans TikTok user.

Spirit Airlines has allegedly banned a passenger who shared a video on TikTok demonstrating how to take a large cabin bag onboard without paying for it.

User “robkallday“, who has more than 180,000 followers, altered his digital boarding pass to read “1” instead of “0” under the section marked “carry-on bag”.

At the boarding gate, this will supposedly trick agents into thinking the passenger has already paid extra for a large cabin bag.

Although Rob K posted the video with the caption, “Didn’t actually do this, my bag fits,” Spirit Airlines reportedly banned the passenger for two years for sharing the hack.

He would later post a follow up clip showing the letter he received from the airline.

“As you know you created a video on the social media platform ‘TikTok’ showing users how to manipulate a Spirit Airlines boarding pass and fraudulently indicate they paid for a carry-on bag to the financial detriment of Spirit Airlines,” the letter reads.

“Additionally, as evidenced in the video’s comments, you have also been advising users specifically on what cell phone application should download to carry out the scam.”

The airline goes on to say he is banned from all Spirit Airlines facilities, with the carrier promising to call law enforcement should he trespass.

“Bunch of babies,” Rob commented.

Spirit Airlines’ bag policy allows one personal carry-on item, so long as the item does not exceed size limitations. Any additional or larger bags are subject to additional fees.
