Americans google βwhat is Indiaβ and βwhere is Indiaβ as Trump visits.
As the US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump continue their trip in India, Americans back home are asking all the wrong questions.
Data obtained from Google shows a surge in searches of “what is India” from US-based users in the past week.
New Jersey topped the list as the state where the most searches were made.
They were closely followed by Indiana and Georgia.
At least some were aware that India is a country, as “where is India” also saw a surge in searches.
In a study made last year conducted by market researchers OnePoll,Β 11% of American surveyedΒ have never travelled outside of the state they were born.
40% of those questioned said theyβve never left the country.
Each year,Β television host Jimmy Kimmel sends out a team to go out on the street to ask people passing by to name any country on a map.
The clips always leave viewers in disbelief.
