TSA agent convicted for tricking woman.

A former Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agent has been jailed after he tricked a woman into showing him her breasts at Los Angeles International Airport.

Johnathon Lomeli, 23, told an unnamed female traveller in June 2019 that he would need to check there was nothing hidden inside her bra when passing through security.

Prosecutors say Lomeli then made the woman pull her trousers away from her waist so he could look down them before telling her they would need to go to a private room for more screening.

However, when they reached the elevator, Lomeli proceeded to perform the screening there, ordering the woman “to show me your full breasts”.

Before reaching the room, he complimented the woman’s body then allowed her to leave.

Lomeli was sentenced to 60 days in county jail, 52 classes addressing sexual compulsion and two years of probation, California’s attorney general’s office announced.

“We all have the right to be treated with dignity and respect in all places, and no one is entitled to use a position of power to violate those rights,” said Xavier Becerra, the attorney general, in his statement at the hearing on 22 January 2021.

“Why can’t some men absorb that simple truth? This is 2021, not 1921.”

A TSA spokesperson told the New York Times it “does not tolerate illegal, unethical or immoral conduct.

“The actions involving a former TSA employee are an affront to the hardworking and committed members of our work force,” he added.
