Ryanair flight diverted after ‘bomb note’ found.

 

Two people have been arrested after a Ryanair flight from Krakow, Poland to Dublin, Ireland was forced to make an emergency landing in London after a bomb scare.

 

Flight FR1902 was diverted to London Stansted at around 6:40pm on Monday after a note was found in the toilet claiming that explosives were on board.

 

Two RAF Typhoon jets were scrambled to escort the plane to the airport.

 

Upon landing, armed police searched the plane and arrested two men, aged 26 and 47 on suspicion of making threats to endanger an aircraft.

 

If convicted they could face up to five years in jail.

 

In a statement Stansted Airport police said: “A flight from Krakow to Dublin was diverted to Stansted Airport at around 6.40pm on Monday 13 July due to reports of a security alert.

 

“Following investigations on the plane, we have been able to establish there is nothing suspicious on board. The aircraft has been handed back to Stansted Airport and the operator.

 

“Two men – aged 47 and 26 – have been arrested on suspicion of making threats to endanger an aircraft and are currently in custody. We appreciate the patience and understanding of everyone involved.”
