Passengers arrested after fight with Frontier Airlines employee at Miami airport.

Two female passengers were arrested at Miami International Airport after fighting with a Frontier worker over missing their flight.

Janaeah Negash and Makyan Mercer, after celebrating one of their birthdays on Sunday, arrived at the airport 45 minutes late on Tuesday to board a flight to Atlanta.

After being told they were not allowed to board the plane, the pair argued with the gate agent which escalated to violence when Mercer, 20, allegedly threw a plastic sign holder at the employee, causing the woman to suffer a cut on her face.

Cell phone footage that was provided to NBC 6 Miami by the news media site Only In Dade shows the two unruly women being pinned down by police officers.

Mercer can be seen in the video sporting bright pink hair, kicking her feet and trying to crawl away on her stomach while screaming “Get off of me!”

Negash is lying face down on the floor with her hands restrained behind her back.

The arrest report quoted Nagesh as screaming at the police, “Don’t touch her!”

The duo were transported to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, where Mercer was charged with aggravated battery, resisting arrest with violence, and disorderly conduct. Negash was charged with resisting arrest with violence, and disorderly conduct.

They have since been bonded out of jail. They are due back in Florida court on February 23.

In a statement on Wednesday, Frontier Airlines said, “Yesterday, at the Frontier ticket counter at Miami International Airport, two customers approached the counter to check in for their flight after the designated cut-off time for check-in. They became aggressive, with one of the customers physically assaulting a team member who subsequently required medical treatment.

“We are providing our full support to the injured team member and are appalled by the conduct of the two customers who were ultimately arrested. Both will be permanently banned from flying with us in the future,” the statement added.
