VIDEO: British Airways sacks hostess over ‘racist’ Snapchat video about Nigerian passengers | Secret Flying

A British Airways hostess who filmed herself making racist comments about Nigerian passengers has been sacked by the airline.

Joanne Wickenden sparked outrage on Friday night after recording herself making racist comments in a Snapchat video whilst dressed in her BA uniform.

The video was recorded before the 23-year-old was due to be on shift for a London Heathrow to Abuja, Nigeria flight.

In the video, captioned “I can’t cope with this flight”, Ms Wickenden suggests male passengers on the flight to Nigeria would need more leg room owing to the size of their genitals.

“The upside is I’m going to Nigeria and there’s gonna be bare BBC.”

She then goes on to say: “All the Nigerians are gonna be there like ‘gimme Coca Cola, gimme me beef, why you have no beef left? I want beef.

“And I’m just gonna be there like, ‘Sorry sir, we ran out of beef’.

“All the Nigerians are gonna be there asking for f****** upgrades because they haven’t got enough leg room because their BBCs are in their way,” the hostess concluded.

Ms Wickenden, who is an aspiring actress, told Mail Online: “I have been framed by another BA employee. They were encouraging me, egging me on to say things. They were recording me and sent it around to our friends.”

An airline spokeswoman said in a statement: “We expect the utmost professionalism from our staff when they are representing British Airways.”
