A drunk Irish woman was arrested after hurling abuse at the crew in a London-bound Air India flight because they would not serve her more alcohol.
An Irish woman has been arrested at Heathrow Airport following a drunken rant on her Air India flight from Mumbai.
Simone O’Broin, 50, became irate after being denied more wine on Saturday’s London-bound flight.
“I am a f*****g international lawyer,” O’Broin yells at a male crew member before calling a female flight attendant an “Indian f*****g money-grabbing b*****d”.
“The f*****g Rohingyas, the f*****g people of all Asia, for you, I’m an international criminal lawyer. Don’t get any money for it by the way. But you won’t give me a f*****g glass of wine, is that correct?” she says.
O’Broin, who was a business class passenger on the flight, apparently spits at the pilot in the video before saying, “I’ll turn you inside f*****g out. You f*****g stupid c**t.”
She also claims to be a ‘leader of the f*****g boycott movement’, adding: “If I say boycott – f*****g Air India, done.”
London Metropolitan Police has confirmed that the woman was taken into custody at Heathrow Airport upon landing.
“At approximately 1.30pm on Saturday, 10 November, a 50-year-old woman was arrested after an Air India flight had landed at Heathrow Airport,” a police spokesperson told MailOnline.
“She was arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public order, common assault and drunk and disorderly.”
An Air India spokesperson said: “As a thumb rule, a passenger can be served 2-3 pegs of hard liquor and another 3-4 glasses of wine. Passengers in business class can get a little more. But this passenger already had four quarter bottles of wine and was insisting for more. When denied, she started shouting and abusing the crew members.”
Irish lady behaves in such an abusive, racist way with @airindiain crew for being refused extra drinks. Very decent AI crew behaviour. Arrested on landing. Wonder if she should have been controlled onboard with handcuffs. @JitiBhargava @Mohan_Rngnathan pic.twitter.com/kSTDmGOEm5
