Passenger’s head stamped on during violent brawl at Dublin Airport.

A man in his 20s has been arrested and another is receiving treatment in Beaumont Hospital following a fight in a busy Dublin Airport terminal earlier this week.

The fight began with two men hitting and pushing each other, before several others started getting involved.

In a video of the incident posted online, some onlookers can be seen trying to break the violence up, but others seemed to be enjoying the show – following the action with a pint in hand.

One man is then attacked by a third man from behind and falls to the ground.

His head is then violently stamped on while he lays prone on the floor.

His body can be seen being dragged to safety by fellow travellers.

According to reports, Gardaí subsequently arrived at the scene and arrested a man in his 20s.

One of the men – presumably the one who had his head stamped on – was taken to nearby Beaumont Hospital in Dublin to be treated for his injuries.

A Garda spokesperson told the Irish Independent: “Gardaí, with the assistance of the DAA Airport Police, responded to a public order incident at Dublin Airport earlier this evening, 24 May 2022.

“One man has since been taken to Beaumont Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

“One man (20s) was arrested and is currently detained at Swords Garda station.

“No further information available at this time. Investigations ongoing.”

The arrested man has since been charged and is due to appear before Swords District Court on 14 June.

Garda Commissioner Drew Harris has said the violent incident at Dublin Airport is regrettable.
