An impatient Ryanair passenger left a plane via the emergency exit and ended up perched on the wing after he grew tired of waiting to disembark.
A man has been arrested at Malaga–Costa del Sol Airport after opening the emergency exit door and getting out on to the wing after becoming fed up with waiting to disembark.
The 57-year-old Polish national can be seen in the video perched on the wing of flight FR8164 with his hand luggage as the plane sits on the tarmac.
The passenger had become frustrated that the New Year’s Day flight departed the UK one-hour later than scheduled, and then was kept waiting again on the plane in Malaga.
Fernando Del Valle Villalobos filmed the Polish man making his exit and shared the footage on Facebook.
“After leaving London an hour late and arriving in Malaga only to be left waiting another 30 minutes inside the plane, with no explanation as to why from Ryanair, this man decided he wasn’t going to wait any longer,” he wrote.
“He activated the emergency door and left, saying, ‘I’m going via the wing.’ It was surreal.”
A spokesman for Ryanair said: “This airport security breach occurred after landing in Malaga airport on 1st January.
“Malaga airport police immediately arrested the passenger in question and since this was a breach of Spanish safety and security regulations, it is being dealt with by the Spanish authorities.”
The man is expected to face a hefty fine.
