Officer fired for hitting a woman at Miami International Airport.
The Miami-Dade Police Department is terminating an officer who hit a woman, knocking her on the ground earlier this week at Miami International Airport.
In the shocking video which has circulated online, two police officers can be seen arguing with 21-year old Paris Sharon Anderson at a departure gate.
According to reports, the officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. Wednesday to the American Airlines rebooking desk “due to a disturbance involving a black female.”
Anderson can be heard yelling at Antonio Clemente Rodriguez, “You acting like you White when you really Black. What you gonna do?” as she gets into his face.
At that moment, Rodriguez takes a step back and punches Anderson on the face, knocking her to the ground.
Rodriguez can then be heard in the video claiming self-defence, saying Anderson “head-butted” him, as he puts her in handcuffs.
Anderson was arrested on initial charges of battery against a police officer, a felony, and disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor.
However, Officer Rodriguez has not escaped punishment himself.
“As a result of an administrative investigation into the officer’s conduct during this incident; it is my intent to proceed with the termination of the involved officer’s employment with the Miami-Dade Police Department,” Alfredo Ramirez III, director of the Miami-Dade Police Department, tweeted.

“The administrative process to proceed with termination has been initiated. The MDPD holds itself accountable for its actions, and this is just another example of our commitment to do just that.”
Criminal charges may soon be filed as Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle has been asked to investigate the use of force used by the officer.
