Ryanair steward shocks passengers with rant about airline.

A disgruntled Ryanair flight attendant launched a rant about their employer over the plane’s intercom to shocked passengers on a flight from Murcia, Spain to Manchester, UK.

The moment was captured on video by a passenger on the flight last Wednesday, where the crew member can be heard saying over the loudspeaker: “I do apologise. If you want to file a complaint please do so, go to Ryanair.com.

“They don’t listen to their staff, they probably care about you more because you give them money. Instead we’re costing them money. So give that a go, see how that goes. After four years I literally — I haven’t got high expectations for them you know.”

The incident comes during a delicate time for Ryanair as an estimated 2,000 of the airline’s cabin crew staff could go out on strike across Europe at some stage this summer.

Three trade unions representing aviation workers in Spain and Portugal have this week announced plans to take industrial action over working conditions and pay.

Ryanair’s Spanish cabin crew announced a six-day strike that will take place on June 24, 25, 26 and 30, and on July 1 and 2.

They will be joined by Ryanair’s Portuguese cabin crew who have planned a three-day strike on June 24, 25 and 26, and cabin crew for Ryanair in Italy who have called for a 24-hour strike on June 25.

Earlier this week, French cabin crew at Ryanair went on strike on Sunday, and Monday.

In response to the incident, a spokesperson for Ryanair said: “We sincerely regret the comments made by a crew member on this flight from Región de Murcia International Airport to Manchester, which are not representative of Ryanair.”
