A Scoot flight from Queensland to Singapore was forced to make an emergency landing after a fight broke out in mid-air.

A Scoot flight from the Gold Coast to Singapore was diverted after a mid-air brawl.

Flight TR7 had been in the air for less than two hours before passengers began fighting each other.

A video posted to social media shows two men throwing punches at one another, before one is put into a chokehold by the other.

One of the men then takes his shirt off and attacks again.

According to reports, other passengers then restrained the shirtless passenger by pinning him to the ground and binding his hands.

The captain of the flight made a request to land at Sydney International Airport.

In a statement, an Australian Federal Police spokeswoman confirmed officers responded to a request for assistance from Scoot yesterday.

“The matter involves a disruptive male passenger on-board a flight from the Gold Coast to Singapore,” she said.

“The aircraft was diverted to Sydney and the AFP met the plane upon arrival. Inquiries into this matter remain ongoing.”
