A man has been arrested after attacking TSA officers at Phoenix Sky Harbor.

 

A man attempted to rush through a security checkpoint at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, attacking TSA agents.

 

Surveillance footage shows Tyrese Roshawn Garner rush the agents at the airport’s D security checkpoint.

 

Garner can be seen in the video barging through a full-body scanner, knocking over a TSA officer and taking a swing at another.

 

As Garner pushes through, punching another agent at least twice, he is eventually tackled to the ground.

 

According to the police report, the 19-year-old is accused of punching five TSA officers and possibly being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

 

Five officers were later treated for minor injuries.

 

“This unprovoked and brazen physical attack against our TSOs is unacceptable,” reads a TSA statement.

 

“We are grateful for our committed workforce and for the role they play in protecting the traveling public every day. We continue to monitor the safety and health of the TSOs involved in this incident and will cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation.”

 

Garner was charged with one felony count each of criminal trespassing and resisting arrest, as well as five counts of misdemeanour assault.

 

He is being held at Maricopa County jail on a $1,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on June 25.
