Plane makes ‘lowest ever landing’ at island airport in heart-stopping video.

Tourists on a Greek beach got a huge shock when a low-flying Wizz Air plane zoomed above their heads shortly before landing at Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport.

The island’s layout means the runway is very short, so pilots have to make a particularly low approach.

As a result, it’s become a popular spot for thrill-seeking plane spotters hoping to get some close-up pictures.

In a video posted to YouTube by aviation account GreatFlyer, one beachgoer can be heard shouting “Holy s***” while a man with a camera seems to duck and wince as the jet goes by.

Dust from the road is kicked up by the velocity of the A321neo as several people lurch out of the way of the incoming aircraft.

“How many of the spectators do you think needed new pants?” one person asked beneath the video.

After the Wizz plane passes, several people on the beach laugh nervously.

Maho Beach on the Dutch side of St. Maarten is another location where thrill-seekers watch planes approach extremely low to land at Princess Juliana International Airport.
