Woman has meltdown on plane after being ‘refused wine.’
United Airlines has banned a woman from flying with it after she caused the pilots to divert the flight following an argument with the crew over wine.
The incident, which took took place on flight UA1813 on Tuesday, diverted to Phoenix “due to a disruptive passenger who continually refused to follow the flight attendant’s instructions to return to her seat.”
In a video originally shared on TikTok, the unnamed woman can be seen arguing with other passengers and staff, as the flight made its way from Houston to Los Angeles.
One flight attendant says to the woman: “You came on the plane with wine, I was nice enough to let you on the aircraft. I could have made you stay in Houston.”
Other passengers intervene and attempt to calm the woman down but have little success.
As the unruly woman bickers with other passengers, a flight attendant tells her: “We are going to divert, you are going to go to jail.”
The Tiktok video was captioned: “Yesterday was insanity. Had our entire flight landed so she could get arrested because she couldn’t get wine on the flight.
“We had to land so she could be arrested but also free in flight entertainment.”
United Airlines said the woman was met by law enforcement after arriving in Phoenix and was removed from the plane.
“The customer has been barred from future United flights while we review this matter,” the airline said in a statement.
