Two women stopped at airport with skeleton in luggage.

A woman and her daughter were stopped at Munich Airport after custom officers found a dead man in their luggage.

The 74-year old Armenian woman was travelling with her 52-year old daughter from Greece to Yerevan with a stopover in Munich.

During the layover, German customs officials discovered an unusual wooden box in one of the bags which turned out to contain a human skeleton.

The elderly woman explained that her husband was buried in 2008 near the couple’s home in Thessaloniki, Greece and was now repatriating his bones to be buried in his native Armenia.

According to reports, German officials concluded no crime had been committed and the pair, along with the skeleton, were allowed to continue with their journey.

It is not clear why the wife waited 12 years to repatriate her husband’s body.
