Emirates reportedly failed in finding a solution after losing passenger’s wheelchair part.

An Emirates passenger has been left stranded in Singapore after the airline lost part of her wheelchair.

Gemma Quinn, 35, who was paralysed from the neck down in a car accident in 1992, booked a 19-day trip across Asia with her two carers at a cost of more than £15,000.

After her flight from Manchester to Dubai on 23 December, Quinn discovered the airline had lost a crucial part of her custom-made wheelchair.

According to reports, airport staff in Dubai pushed Quinn through the terminal in a stretcher in order to make her connecting flight. She was assured the airline will have a solution by the time she arrived in Singapore.

However, upon arriving in Singapore, the missing wheelchair part was nowhere to be found and the airline had no solution as promised.

Quinn is now stuck in a hotel and cannot begin her vacation until the issue is resolved.

Speaking to PA Media, Quinn said: “This was meant to be a holiday of a lifetime which is now turned into a living nightmare.

“I have always tried to live as normal and active a life as possible. Travel always comes with its difficulties but I have never been made to feel so disabled as I do now.”

Ms Quinn, made headlines as a child due to a letter she sent to Superman actor Christopher Reeve about his own paralysis.

She later met Princess Diana that same year who described Quinn as “inspirational”.
