Delta have returned same-sex love scenes into its in-flight movies.

Delta Air Lines has said it will restore same-sex love scenes in its in-flight movies after outrage on social media that they were being edited out.

The announcement came as the airline last week was accused of cutting out gay and lesbian love scenes.

In particular, the movies “Booksmart” and Elton John’s biopic “Rocketman” were at the forefront of the backlash.

Delta have now returned all same-sex love scenes on both films and admitted they were “unnecessarily excluded.”

“We are immediately putting a new process in place for managing content available through Delta’s in-flight entertainment,” Delta said in a statement.

“Studios often provide videos in two forms: a theatrical, original version and an edited version. We selected the edited version and now realize content well within our guidelines was unnecessarily excluded from both films. We are working to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

“Booksmart” director, Olivia Wilde, celebrated the good news by tweeting, “Thank you, @delta.”
